Frank Bowling's solo show 'Drop, Roll, Slide, Drip: Frank Bowling's Poured Paintings 1973-78' is at Tate Britain (until 31 March, 2013). 'Frank Bowling's Recent Paintings' is at Hales Gallery (31 May–7 July). 'Recent Small Works' is at Eleven Spitalfields (6 July–31 Aug) and 'British Design 1948-2012: Innovation in the Modern Age' is at the V&A (until 12 Aug).

Stephen Chambers's work The Art of War is on show at the Brook Gallery, Devon (15 July–21 Aug).

Fred Cuming shows at Brian Sinfield Gallery, Burford, in Oxfordshire (8–28 July)

Anne Desmet shows at the Mercer Art Gallery, Harrogate (9 June–16 Sep). Her show ‘Olympic Metamorphoses’ travels from Pitzhanger Manor, Ealing (until 27 May) to the Bluecoat Arts Centre, Liverpool (14 June–11 July), and on to Editions Ltd, Liverpool (14 July–18 Aug)

Jennifer Dickson speaks at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa (2pm, 17 June)

'She Lay down Deep Beneath the Sea: Tracey Emin' at Turner Contemporary is on at Turner Contemporary, Margate (until 23 Sep)

Anthony Eyton shows Brick Wall No.2 (2000) in 'Built' at the Mall Galleries, London (24 June–6 July)

‘David Hockney: A Bigger Picture’ is at the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao (until 30 Sep)

‘Gary Hume: Flashback’ is on show at Wolverhampton Art Gallery (until 7 July) then Jerwood Gallery, Hastings (14 July–23 Sep)

Timothy Hyman has been appointed artist in residence for Maggie’s cancer caring centres

Albert Irvin's show 'Maintaining the Faith' is at Gimpel Fils (26 July–1 Sep)

Tess Jaray co-ordinates the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts (4 June–12 Aug). Her show 'Tess Jaray Recent Paintings' is at The Piper Gallery (10 Oct–10 Nov). Painting: Mysteries and Confessions, Jaray's collection of writings is republished by the RA.

A retrospective on Allen Jones is at the Kunsthalle Tübingen, Germany (16 June–16 Sep).

Christopher Le Brun has created a commemorative Olympic coins for the Royal Mint.

Jock McFadyen's solo show 'Made in Hackney' is at The Fleming Collection, London (until 17 Oct)

Ian McKeever’s solo show ‘Hartgrove. Paintings and Photographs’ is at the Josef Albers Museum in Quadrat Bottrop, Germany (3 June–2 Sep)

Mali Morris shows at Oriel Mostyn, Llandudno (until 24 June). She is a Selector and Mentor for Jerwood Painting Fellowships 2012-13

Hughie O’Donoghue’s show ‘A Moment’s Liberty’ is at Marlborough Fine Art, London (4 July–10 Aug). His ‘Artist’s Laboratory’ show is at the RA (29 Aug–21 Oct)

'Tom Phillips: The Remains of the Day' is at Flowers East (until 7 July). 'Tom Phillips: South London Dreaming' is GX Gallery (until 13 June). He has also created a commemorative Olympic coin for the Royal Mint.

A book on Ivor Abrahams, Eden and other Suburbs: The life and work of sculptor Ivor Abrahams, has been published (£30, Sansom and Co)

Phyllida Barlow’s show ‘Bad Copies’ is at the Henry Moore Institute Sculpture Study Galleries, Leeds (until 17 June). She has a solo show at the Ludwig Forum for International Art, Aachen, Germany (until 17 June)

Anthony Caro’s show ‘Caro at Chatsworth’ is at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire (until 1 July); ‘Anthony Caro: New Reliefs and Standing Sculptures’ is at New Art Centre, Roche Court, Salisbury (until 24 June) and ‘Works from the House series’ is at Yorkshire Sculpture Park (until 1 July). Tony Cragg has a solo show at the Museo d’Arte, Lugano, Switzerland (until 12 Aug). See page 32 for his work at Waddesdon Manor

Richard Deacon has a solo show at the Lisson Gallery, London (until 23 June)

Antony Gormley has a solo show at White Cube, Hoxton Square, London (13 July–15 Sep), while his show ‘Facts and Systems’ is at the White Cube, São Paulo (until 15 July). Field for the British Isles is at Barrington Court, Barrington in Somerset (until 27 Aug) and Horizon Field Hamburg is at the Deichtorhallen, Hamburg (until 9 Sep)

Nigel Hall takes part in the Kiev Sculpture Project, Ukraine (2 June–2 July). His show ‘Nigel Hall: Skulpturen im Kloster’ is in Eberbach, Germany (until 15 Oct)

Anish Kapoor’s sculpture ArcelorMittal Orbit at the Olympic Park opens 28 July. His show ‘Flashback’ is at Yorkshire Sculpture Park (16 June–4 Nov)

Phillip King shows at Glemham Hall, Aldeburgh, Suffolk (until 30 Sep). Cambridge University has granted him an Honorary Doctorate and he unveils Darwin at Christs College, Cambridge (31 May)

Richard Long, is at Hepworth Wakefield (23 June–14 Oct)

John Maine shows at Pitmedden Gardens, Aberdeenshire (until 30 Sep)

David Mach 'Precious Light' is at the Galway Arts Festival (16-29 July)

David Nash is at Kew Gardens (9 June–14 April, 2013)

Richard Wilson's exhibition 'Hang on a minute lads, I've got a great idea!...' is at the De La Warr Pavilion (7 July–1 Oct)

Architects

David Chipperfield’s Café Royal Hotel in Regent Street, London will open for the Olympics

Ted Cullinan has been made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. Work has begun on his new Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre North East, due for completion Spring 2013

Norman Foster and Spencer De Grey’s firm have been granted permission to build the Hermitage Plaza in Paris. They have begun construction for the Datong Art Museum in China, due to open in 2013

Nicholas Grimshaw’s firm has begun building the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science, in Miami, due to open by early 2015. They have designed a master plan for the city centre area of Mönchengladbach, Germany

Zaha Hadid has a solo show at the Buchmann Galerie, Berlin (until 23 June) and Taschen have published Zaha Hadid. Her Glasgow Riverside Museum has won the European Museum Academy Micheletti Award 2012

Ian Ritchie has been reappointed Visiting Professor at Liverpool University. His memoir Being: An Architect is being published by the RA. The Sainsbury Wellcome Centre neuroscience research facility at University College London is under construction and the firm is working on designs for a new gallery on Raasay island, near Skye. Chris Wilkinson's firm Wilkinson Eyre has collaborated on the ambitious Gardens by the Bay, Singapore, which includes two of the largest climate-controlled glasshouses in the world

Vols 1 & 2 of Eric Parry Architects has been published (Artifice Books).
