Free guided tours for schools and colleges

Led by a gallery educator and available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at selected times throughout the day for groups of 10 or more full-time students (numbers are limited). To make a booking enquiry, read about visiting the RA with your full-time students and then fill in our online form.

Self-guided visits

Self-guided visits for primary schools (11 years and under) are free and 12+ years are £2.50 per student/teacher for groups of 10 or more full-time students. An early morning private view on Mondays at 9am can also be booked. To make a booking enquiry, read about visiting the RA with your full-time students and then fill in our online form.

Free primary workshops

From 10.15am–1pm. These consist of an interactive slide talk, a visit to the galleries led by education mediators and a practical session looking at the relationship between Van Gogh’s letters and his paintings, thinking about how to convey a work of art through text and image.

Friday 22 January, 6.30–8.30pm
Learn about Van Gogh’s work and letters with an introductory lecture by curator Ann Dumas and see the exhibition before it opens.
