Friday Night Late
Sensing Spaces Evening Event
21 February 2014
In the Main Galleries, Burlington House
In association with Time Out
Join us from 6.30-10pm for a multi-sensory experience in the spectacular setting of Sensing Spaces.
We’ve invited Mercury Music prize nominees Portico to perform a live set inspired by the exhibition, fusing electronic and instrumental soundscapes in their trademark style for what promises to be a gig like no other.
Throughout the galleries you can expect everything from edible sandcastles and rocks to clay face-mask meditation, crowd-sourced poetry, a roaming violinist and tubist, walks that quite literally ask you to follow your nose, a breath-taking suspended ceiling of white tulips and live performance art.
We’ve also joined forces with premium drinks specialists Fever-Tree, and your ticket will entitle you to one of their finest concoctions.
Food & Drink
Keeper’s House will be open throughout the event and until midnight with music from a guest DJ and a menu of tasty bar snacks, cocktails, wine and beer.
About the exhibition
We set seven architects from around the world the challenge of changing your perspective on architecture by transforming all 23,000 square feet of our Main Galleries. Let’s just say they have more than risen to the occasion. Through structures, textures, scents, lighting and colours they have created an extraordinary sensory experience.
