The Royal Academy of Arts is one of the UK’s foremost arts institutions, famous for its world class exhibitions including Van Gogh, Anish Kapoor and David Hockney. Its purpose is to be a clear, strong voice for art and artists. Its public programme promotes the creation, study and enjoyment of art to a wide range of audiences through exhibitions, education and debate.

The Communications Department generates publicity campaigns to support the many activities of the Academy, most notably its world renowned exhibitions programme. An exciting and rare opportunity for an exceptional individual has arisen to join the team as a Head of Press.

The successful candidate will have extensive prior experience of leading a small team in a press role ideally within the cultural/arts sector, with specific and robust experience of leading and managing press campaigns and corporate PR, strategic planning and budget management.

Well presented, articulate and confident with a creative flair, you will possess first rate organisational and communications skills to build effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest and knowledge of the visual arts and a sound understanding and knowledge of the Royal Academy of Arts.
